The Krishna Key - A Disappointment

Here's my review of the book.

It wont come as a surprise if I say that I chose to read the book just because it has Krishna in its title! I saw some reviews online and found that people have called it the Indian DaVinci Code..Clearly those were the people paid to write that! 

The book started on a superb note with the characters and plot very similar to DaVinci Code..

But as you read on you realise that in some scene the author himself is confused about which character was in the scenes! *huffs* Random characters appear in chapters they weren't present!

For example: Ram decides to build a bridge. Hanuman and his Vanarsena decide to help build it by liftiing rocks. Ram and sita too join them..

and we go like Hello?! where did Sita come from!? and if sita is with them..why build the bridge?!

The editor needs to get editing lessons..!
If that wasn't enough..to stress the importance of a number the author would go to any random instance that might not be relevant. For example: 8 is an important number for hindus..krishna was the 8th avatar of vishnu, an octagon has 8 sides..my father has 8 brothers..and those 8 brothers..hold your breath..have 8 wives! :\ And FYI Mr. Sanghi..there weren't 10 but 24 avatars of Vishnu and they certainly werent in the order that it is popularly known! 

I kept reading hoping that the end would justify the means! But it ended up being a cheap imitation of a Paulo Coelho novel.

Mr. Sanghi..I think you should have published this under your Alias Shawn Haigins..so no one would have known this crap was by you!I would have given you more credit if it were a book with fresh ideas and experimental methods! But if you are using the classics..it better be good.

The only positive of the book was the narration of the story of Krishna through the english translation of the shlokas!

Overall Rating 1 and half out of 5!   

Love Is In The AIr!

Its the Valentine's Week again! And while all the couples are busy overdoing  on social networking sites I have decided to be vain yet again and write a blog post that is read only by people I force. :P

Since love is in the air I want to dedicate this post to mention top 5 things I am currently in love with!

1. Sleep- Currently Deprived!
2. Reading- Anything..even hoardings, tissue notes and stuff you scribble when testing a pen!
3. Manchester United- No matter how hard I try to unhook myself it is always there!
4. Arijit Singh's Voice -*Dreamy*
5. Music- If  I were to be stranded on an Island I would love books and music as my company! Any living thing I would cook and eat! :P
 

Sholay 3D and My musings

This was the first time I watched Sholay..Not just in the theatre..FIRST TIME EVER!
When I watched Kuch Kuch Hota Hai I prided myself for knowing all the songs by heart even before the movie released! But when it came to Sholay..I knew all the dialogues too! I have seen so many enactments of the various scenes from the movie and uncountless spoofs. There were some everyday use lines derived straight from these dialogues too! Like, bahut naainsaadi hai or arey itna sannata kyon hai bhai? :P Truly Sholay was a big deal back then and it still reminisces in our day to day life.

But I watched the movie yesterday...in 2014..and to tell you the truth movies haven't evolved much since then except maybe in picture quality and technology..
The stories of many contemporary movies intersect that of Sholay. Also the jokes and funny scenes are still the same! By watching sholay I realised Indian cinema like India is still stuck in old times while the world is moving at lightning speeds!

So movie making people..come up with new things in stories, concepts and not just technology and scripts stolen from abroad.

And Sholay..good job Sippy Men! :)

Brain Dead Line

Today the ministers declared that parties can go on in Mumbai on 31st Dec, 2013 until 5 am and the commissioner of police gave the deadline of 1.30 am. The police say that this is for the safety of girls. While they continue disputing, lets consider both scenarios. If the party at clubs ends at 1.30, its not like the girls who party till 1.30 will go home after the party. They will crash at a friends empty house or house party. Now where is there a higher chance of a girl getting raped? At a full club? Or an empty house? Didn't we learn anything from 24? :P So the police is rooting for the girls travelling back home in the middle of the night and not at 5am at the break of dawn! Hmmm..interesting! The police also seems to think a girls protection depends on the time that the party ends. So the curfew for the party is essential to be discussed and capital punishment for rapists is for a later date. My request to police stop blaming late night parties or any other silly things like that for rapes! The only cause is perversion in the minds of males! If you want to scare them off then the punishment must be castration in public!

Today I found a cockroach in my sink that did not do its wriggly thing and get unconscious when I poured soap water on it! They are the organisms that can survive the toughest conditions they say..and now they are adapting to human torture techniques?! Or is it just a roach mutant? :P

Blogging again!! :D

Its been a while since I used my computer or even A computer. But I have successfully managed to drown my only smart phone Galaxy Note and sadly have to access the internet only when I'm home! (courtesy: Nokia 6030)

So here's a few things that I would like to share with you that I have learnt over the past few months

• If you immerse a galaxy note in a bucket of water - it floats!
• People will go to any lengths to save a few bucks.
• Harbour line is the worst railway line in Mumbai-Its neither fast like Central and not cleaner like western.
• No matter how bad your time in college was...you will always miss it when you are away! :(
• Freedom doesn't exist...you go from working for someone to working for someone else..!
• Every craving lasts for about 7 seconds..control and it will pass..And not to forget it will come back in 10 minutes! :P
• Joblessness is the worst punishment you can give anyone! :(

That's all I can think of right now..will come back with more soon! Coz I am that jobless!

The Age of True Love!

After having passed through painful teenage and stressful early twenties I have a new theory! Will have many flaws but I'm still going with it!

People say there is no age for love...I agree...But there is an age for true love..you know that unconditional kind...? (Which most people think does not exist :\)

Having observed and learned from the experiences of my friends and myself  I have deduced that you can experience true love only in a certain age group. Most probably that is between the ages 19-22. This is the only age where you aren't too naïve to think a crush is love and fall for any random guy who gives you even little bit bhav. Nor are you too mature to critically analyse everyone's ulterior motive. You are still learning about the world and can accept people for who they are and learn to really like them! Only in this transition period can you love someone unconditionally and accept them with all their flaws and still keep yourself sane. The right balance between naïve and over critical. :P

I am starting to think this is also the period when you make good friends..the kind you can keep forever!

Its just a theory..do you agree? Or is it just common around me? Lemme know!

The Happiest Day Of My Life...!

As the younger one among the most incompatible sisters....my dreams for freedom and happiness always centered around getting the elder one (akka) outta my life! And so when on the very fateful day of October 4th, 2009 was decided as her wedding day...i was ecstatic!

This was the day I'd waited for ever since i was born...ohh...wait thats exaggeration...ever since i could comprehend the crap things she said to me...and the blames she put on me for the things she did...ahh...thats dull :P lets keep the drama on...and consider the day since i was born...:)

The poor groom/bakra...is Mr. Purushottam Nayak..(veiw picture)...Jovial guy...pity him...

That one all important question...!

Im sure almost all my girl friends...have gone through this once in their life...dunno bout the guys...

Remember that one point of time...when a friend or just an acuaintance..or just a irritating friend...came up to you and asked u that question...(mostly in casual talk)...

"what kinda guy do you want?" and thats it!!

You know where this is goin...!! and you gotta do something bout it!! sooooon!

You try avoidance..some more avoidance...deflection...distraction...everythin...!!

Anything to get everything back to normal...pretend it is...but u know its not....

I mean...its all over the hostel! The tension..the anxiety...is hard to miss..The nailbiting club (which i lead)...is often the first indicator of the examinations nearing..

The signs n symptoms are..

• late nite coffees..
• group discussion dinners..
• using books as pillows..
• sleepin earlier than usual :P
• delhi mess and amrita parades..
• in class charades..
• hittin on the invigilator (right guys?)
• early morning tea...
• adha adhura baths..
• whining about exams
• planning the holidays...
• KFC failure celebrations...

in short...everythin but study..and then pray to pass....:)

As I...look at all the terribly boring programmes on the life of this one gandhi guy..and discuss stuff with my parents..what is one question in my mind is..
"What the hell is going on?!!?"

I mean...Look at our history text books...so full of praises for all the political leaders..! And makes us wonder how someone could be so great..(not really!)
And once outta school we read autobiographies of real people..and..interact with people who have lived in the past...(and are still alive! )...
And the scene there is terrible...the sick games these people have played to win power..Its soooo SICK!

I mean...before pointing a Finger...or two at karan johar..for making movies on "socially unacceptable" issues...Look at your so called.."great leaders"
Most of their children are not their own!

They say..."If you cant say anythin good, dont say anything at all!"
But I think.."if you cant speak the truth..keep your bloody mouth shut!"

I mean why confuse the kid!
Who cares if those dead people were good or bad..!
They didnt do us any good...I mean all this crap about gandhi getting us freedom! Is all bullshit! Everyone knows...(n if not should know now!) that the UN decided that each of the colonies...should be asked if they want freedom or still be a part of the colony after World War II...And it was NOT because of Gandhi-Bandhi...or anyone else!

That guy just delayed our independence...and ruled out..self proclaimed independence!

yeah..My schedule is like..very jam packed..with the dog as my only saviour or mode of entertainment...!!

The campus is so huge and sophisticated..and the website..Absolutely Useless!!!

One thing that attracts me to Bengaluru..is the fantastic climate...! B'lore is very cool..Quite literally..:D

I am missing..irritating akka a lot! *sob sob* AAchooooo!!

Although..adi always makes his presence felt...:)
